Mary Jo Lagana

Mary Jo Lagana grew up in Ellwood City, PA and presently resides in Merrimac, MA. She is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. She also has her Early Childhood/Special Education certification in the state of Massachusetts. Ms. Lagana recently retired after 32 years as an Early Childhood/Special Education Teacher at Newbury Elementary School in Newbury, MA. She was also a special education teacher in the towns of Dennis and Brewster Massachusetts where she was a special education middle school teacher.

Ms. Lagana enjoys photography, singing, sign language, and Broadway musicals. She is the proud Mom of Ashley (a first-grade teacher in Ashburn, VA) and grandmother (aka JoJo) to 4-year-old Vaughn.

Ms. Lagana is excited and honored to be a member of the Sacred Heart School Community where she will be working with Mrs. Nevins as an instructional assistant to help support learning with students in the Prek-4 classroom.
